Edwards vs. O’Reilly Goes Down In Chicago Ridge

At “No Escape”, The American Wolves and Future Shock battle for the first, and thus far, only time in Ring of Honor. It was a fight that took the young duo of Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole to their limit, and ultimately came to an end when Eddie Edwards submitted O’Reilly. Unfortunately, the wheels somewhat fell off when the bell didn’t ring to bring an official end to the match.

Senior Official Todd Sinclair signaled for the bell but the timekeeper at that time fumbled the hammer, delaying the official close of the bout, and causing Edwards to do what any wrestler is trained to do, maintain the hold until you hear the bell or the official physically intervenes, which is what Sinclair had to do.

That momentary lapse on the timekeeper’s part caused a bit of a rift in The Wolves that night due to Davey Richards’ concern over his training partner, but luckily there were no permanent after-effects of the Achilles Lock being applied for that duration. The issue became a part of the past, but for Kyle O’Reilly it generated a hunger to test himself against his mentors’ tag partner.

“It sucked.” said O’Reilly, “It was kind of hard to walk the next few days after that match in Richmond, but mistakes happen. I would’ve done the same thing as Eddie. I mean after all, you don’t stop until you hear the bell, that’s something that’s ingrained into every fighter. No hard feelings, but what it did was make me want to test myself against Eddie one-on-one. I roll with Davey every day, I fight him damn near every day, but I haven’t had the privilege with Eddie. I want that fight, and I don’t make a habit of asking for much here, but I want Ring of Honor to make it happen.”

Well in Chicago Ridge, at “Glory by Honor X”, Kyle will get his wish as he goes toe-to-toe with Eddie Edwards for the first time! They are bound by their respective relationships with Davey Richards, they have both battled it out with the ROH World Champion one-on-one, but this is the first time they have met one another on the battlefield in that capacity.

It goes down November 19th at The Frontier Fieldhouse, Edwards vs. O’Reilly, “Glory by Honor X” in Chicago Ridge, IL! Get your tickets right here.
