Mercedes Moné, the former Sasha Banks in WWE, was crowned the new IWGP Women’s Champion during tonight’s NJPW Battle in the Valley event at the San Jose Civic in San Jose, California, defeating KAIRI to become the new Champion. Moné’s victory brings an end to KAIRI’s 90-day reign as the Champion.

New Japan Pro Wrestling have announced that KAIRI will put her IWGP Women’s Championship on the line against Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) as part of their NJPW Battle in the Valley event on February 18th at the San Jose Civic in San Jose, California. KAIRI (formerly known as Kairi Sane during her time in WWE) made her in-ring return for the STARDOM promotion as part of today’s “World Climax 2022 In Ryogoku Kokugikan” event in Tokyo, Japan. KAIRI teamed with Mayu Iwatani at the event to face off against Cosmic Angels (Unagi Sayaka & Tam Nakano.
