In an update on the suspension of WWE RAW superstar Rey Mysterio for 60 days for his second violation of the company’s wellness policy testing, “The Master of the 619” had originally underwent a wellness test backstage at the February 13th edition of WWE RAW in his hometown of San Diego, California and when tests came back, they showed that Mysterio had tested positive for amphetamines, which prompted the company to inform Mysterio in regards to the situation before announcing it on their official website earlier in the week.

When contacted by WWE officials, Mysterio was confused as to what caused his testing to come back positive and stated that it may be down to a medication or supplement that he has been taking, denied the usage of drugs to cause a positive test result and was unable to provide a valid prescription and was therefore suspended for the 60 days. Mysterio was scheduled to make a WWE return in late-May to early-June, however those plans are now on hold due to his suspension. He was also scheduled to go to Japan on a promotional tour with the company, but has been replaced by Alberto del Rio, who the company will be sending instead.
