In an update on the WWE’s plans for the 1,000th episode of WWE Monday Night RAW on July 23rd, the company have reached out to Jim Duggan, Gene Okerlund, Sgt. Slaughter, Roddy Piper, Jimmy Hart, Dusty Rhodes and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase about making appearances on the show. There had been talk of using Bobby Heenan in a segment where he is seen backstage, however Heenan’s health was brought up as to whether he would be able to make an appearance or not.

WWE are said to be going all out and treating it with a new and old school vibe of show and something of a pay-per-view event. In speaking to several sources, Vince McMahon is said to be in full Vince mode to help make this show something spectacular, with talk of a huge storyline set to occur on the night, the potential debut of a new WWE Championship, nostalgic and potential returns to the company and much more.

The current plans as of now are to promote the return of the Undertaker on the show following the WWE No Way Out pay-per-view event. The feeling is that with The Undertaker’s return, the scheduled announcement of D-Generation X reuniting for one night, the 1,000th episode of RAW and much more on the show, that it will help to bring in a strong rating. Vince is also contemplating debuting new talents on the show, with one idea said to be the debut of Dean Ambrose in a segment with Mick Foley on the night, however that isn’t set in stone or confirmed at this stage.
