New Japan Pro Wrestling revealed during their Destruction in Kobe 2023 event that Will Ospreay will put his IWGP UK Championship (IWGP United States Championship) on the line against Zack Sabre Jr. as part of the NJPW Royal Quest III event on October 14th.

Following Ospreay successfully retaining the title in his match against Yota Tsuji, Zack Sabre Jr. came out and issued the challenge for a second time having previously issued a challenge after Ospreay defeated Shingo Takagi at RevPro’s Anniversary XI event.
